Its been real slim pickins here the last few days, I had already worked my last permissions to the point I was`t getting any signals so today I went door
knocking again. First house was about two blocks away from where I had some earlier luck so I was happy to get a new yard to try today.

Only took seven passes and I got a solid 25 signal, so I thought I would be digging up a dime, I wasn`t ready at all for what I saw at the bottom of the hole.
I saw a silver rim, thought I may have got lucky and found another Washington, when I pulled it out I gently wiped the dirt off and saw I had a BARBER!!!
Wow, what a surprise, I have been doing this now for four months and this is my single greatest coin yet!

I`m glad nobody was around to see me doing my silver dance, they might have figured I was having a stroke or something!

Not ten minutes later I got another dime signal and it was shallow, only 2-3 inches, so I figured it was just a clad dime, wrong again, out pops my third
Merc! After than I found three wheats a 1912,1930 and of course a 1944(my most common find) and a few clad coins to end the day.

I certainly got to start knocking on more doors, I`m starting to like the results.:laughing7:

my first eyeball find was a 1915 barber quarter in the 1960s in pa...iwas 7 or 8

I would love to join your club. Could you leave the back door unlocked so I can sneak in? Seriously, though, great job and congrats!

Congratulations! My first and ONLY silver coin was an 1899 Barber half. This was two years ago. I would really love to dig a merc. I love 'em!

Congratualtions on the Barber quarter! :occasion14:

Congrats! And a two silver day at that, cool beans!

Congrats on your first Barber. Looks like a couple of nice finds from that yard.

It took me over a year to score a barber and while I’ve got a standing liberty and a seated quarter I’ve still yet to find a barber quarter. Congratulations and welcome to the club! Door knocking pays off and since most will not do it, often they are untouched.

Congratulations with the nice silver!!

Nice digs! I remember my first Barber. I was about 9 helping my uncle metal detect. While he was swinging I looked down and there it was! I didn't know what it was, except it was shiny! I used it to buy an Ice cream off the Ice cream truck! :) Congrats on the first of many firsts!

You're in...just barely since 1916 was the last year for Barbers :laughing7:

Congrats on your finds. Now you can look forward to the Seated club, the Capped Bust club, etc.

I went out and finished the yard this morning, thanks to whoever suggested gridding from different directions, I went east west this morning instead of north south and picked
up two more wheats,a 1952 and 1918 and another Indian Head 1904, to finish off found my third silver in the yard, a 1960 Rosie.

Got a new house lined up for tomorrow, hopefully just as good.:headbang:
