Two and half years it took, but I finally got my first Half Dime. 1857-O. This was one coin on "my list of coins to find" this year. I haven't posted much this year, but thought I would share this coin with the Tnet members. This was found six inches deep with a Minelab EXPII. Nothing more than a whisper, but it hit in all directions, so I dug. This is also my first seated coin this year and my oldest silver to date. Also found a 1901 Barber Dime, a 1904 V Nickel, 1940 Washington and six wheats not shown. All where found in a local city park. Thanks for looking.

Staydetuned, I probably passed my coil over this area a half dozen times this summer. The ground is extremely dry, maybe had something to do with it (I am beginning to believe dry ground gets better depth, but thats another story). Any deeper and it's definetly out of range in this soil. So, I would guess six inches is about max (my soil anyways).

Major congrats to you, Doug, on your half dime. I would love to find one of those coins. Now, if only your barber had an "S" mintmark.... :o

Fantastic find. I haven't begin to start a wish list yet, maybe next year when I return to Washington state.

Keep up the good work.
