I just picked up this little 14k, 5 gram pin at the coin shop. I paid $150. cash cuz that's all he takes, besides precious metals. It's a very well made piece that I date being made around the later 19-teens, by the type of safety pin hook it has. Everything about it has such wonderful detail in the horse and inner horseshoe are covered with small old mine cut diamonds. The eye of the horse has a tiny little red stone. I just had to have it, because I think an estate jeweler would be asking at least double what I paid.

I like it! I don't think I could have shelled out 150 cash, but I agree, retail you'd never find this less than $300... Feebay? Might take 6 weeks to sell it for $200, or it might sell overnight for $375. Kind of a gamble.

It's a cool piece. I like it. I'm surprised the horseshoes are upside down. That lets the luck run out.

kinda what I thought, but all the gold horseshoe stickpins I looked at were also upside down. Maybe luck doesn't have anything to do with it?

I'm just trying to obtain a collection of more exquisite vintage gold jewelry a little at a time. I really admire the pieces made by the skilled jewelers of the past and how well they're made. They're like little works of art imo.
