I FINALLY get to post somethin'!

Hey everone!
Today was my first time out detecting this year. I found a 1911 V-nickel, 1/2" brown Bennington marble, 2 clay marbles and various little metal items. All were found in an old driveway near my house. The nickel is now my oldest coin find so far. Still chasing that first silver. Sorry about no pics!

First time out this year!!! Well you just have to get out more often....And Congrats on the oldest coin so far.....and before you know it those silver coins will be showing up in thee old pouch!!! HH

Great finds.
I have found all of the various metal things to and would settle for a wooden nickel at this moment.

Keep on huntin' as the silver will show itself sometime when you least expect it.

Hey folks!
The MD bug suddenly hit me hard enuff yesterday to send me out there on a mission. I haven't made time lately to go hunt due to working on my house. I'm trying to get it ready for the market. Me and my wife, Anita, are wanting to have us a home built out on our 15.5 acres between Marshall and Jefferson, Texas. I've been working on the land also. The land guy told us when we bought the land that the last time any dwelling was on the land was over 100 years ago. We found an old homesite with the usual purple glass, etc. and an old handmade brick-lined well which was filled in. So it looks like I even have a good place to detect when I get moved out there. Will get back out as soon as I can and re-learn how to use my daughters' digi camera so I can post some pics.

Nice job on the nickel. I have found lots of silver coins, buffalo nickels and some indian heads but not a V nickel yet. That is my goal for the year. Anyway, good luck and Happy Hunting.

Congrats on the first nice coins this year.

There not easy to come by.

Maybe there is more in that area.

I plan to go back sometime this weekend as there is about an acre lot left to check out. I don't care how hot it gets. Lots of big pecan trees that you can just see the kids from long ago playing around. Can't wait!
