Went out yesterday with Nothisispatrick to a 1907 permission, and had a great time! It was a small yard, but what was surprising was the number of copper pennies we recovered. Not much in the way of other coinage, but between yesterday at that property, and the other day hunting the curb strip in front of this home, I had 65 copper pennies, and 8 wheats. The only other coin I found was a clad quarter. It makes me very curious what the owners of this house were doing with pennies back in the 60s-70s.
Of the two of us, I won the day with a sterling silver crucifix (my first silver jewelry!) . Also found a 1914 wheat and a 1920 wheat, and assorted other knicknacks.
Even better, as we were leaving the yard, the next door neighbor came up to us and asked if we could detect HIS yard some time!
All in all, a great day of detecting! Thanks for reading.
Not sure why the pictures are all sideways. Something about an old dog and new tricks. First time posting my finds on here.
