I found this today. It weighs about 1 ounce. I tested it with a soldering gun to see if lead. It did not melt. No mark left on paper. Has some marks on top but too worn to make out. It was found under a big rock. Anyone have any ideas
First... clear and close photos help, especially of the markings (regardless of how faint they may be).
Second... put a ruler or coin in the pic as a reference to size.
It actually looks like the piece that you would mount on the inside of a car windshield to hold the rear view mirror on. Looks like it could be the same type of metal also. It is the right shape. Slide the mirror up on your windshield and check it out.
Take it to any jeweler or pawn shop tell them you found it and want to know if it is silver. They will tell you by doing an acid test. Acid testers are sold fairly cheap on eBay or Amazon for testing gold, silver
Your pix are out of focus, if you are taking pix with a smartphone get about eight ten inches away with good light on your target take pic without zoom then edit your pic using crop and save that pic
