That's what I call my detector, "AT". :dontknow:

Anyway, today I took him over to the place where I dug
the bottles last time. I just let him tell me where a good concentration
of metal was, (figuring a main dump), then I started scraping the layers away.

Did ok and actually enjoyed the change of pace:

If you'll notice, this piece has some initials
scratched into it, "RH". Ya know, this is one
return I would absolutely LOVE to be able to do! :)

2017 (69).jpg

Anyone good at reading gibberish?

2017 (70).jpg

Probably a hunting/fishing license. But, it
was buried so long the only thing left is the
ink that stained the plastic. :)

2017 (71).jpg

It's ALWAYS a thrill for me when something like
this comes uncovered! Like a surprise package
at Christmas, ya know? :)

I saved the "reveal" to share with you guys.
I did look for bills, No silver/gold certificates. :dontknow:
But, there was still the coin pouch! LOL

2017 (74).jpg

Alas....nope....just dirt. :dontknow:

2017 (72).jpg

This looks like the one that Hunter101 found
just recently. But, this one says SUMPTER S.C.
on the bottom. Probably the one the guard was
drinking when they fired on Fort Sumter. ;)

2017 (73).jpg

Even found this fine example of a tank's wheel
cover! My GOODNESS! Those things were big back then! LOL

2017 (75).jpg

Ya know? Unless I'm mistaken, I do believe
that Fishy is trying to get a suntan! ;)

2017 (76).jpg

....................... :dontknow: .....................

Thanks for peeking folks. Weather permitting,
I should be back to my more usual, line of clad quarters
next time. :tongue3:

Thanks for your kind visit.

There is a lot of work that goes into diggin bottles. So while you gave the detector a day off, you certainly had to work for that haul.

This past summer I hunted an old dump alongside a
beach. Man there was a lot of trash. I must say that none of the bottles or items I dug up looked anything close to as nice as your finds. It is indeed a lot of work but to be honest, I kind of enjoyed it.
Congrats on your finds.

No walking, just sitting on your duff digging? I love the bottles, I really like that gun best, very nice cleanup on all that stuff!

Oh my yes! Three hours straight of standing and digging! Haven't been this tired in a long time!

Spoken like a true non-bottle-digger. LOL I didn't sit down until I was back in the car! See above. :) LOL (ouch!)

With help from fyrffytr1 over on the What Is It forum, the wheel cover has been ID'ed as being from a '58 Desoto.

In case anyone was wondering. :)

Thanks! But, it's just a matter of location. Like getting the coil over something old.

It does make a nice change of pace. :)

Very nice recoveries that make for a really outstanding display. The toy gun is in great shape, and would no doubt bring tears to the original owner's eyes if he could be found.

Very nice collection of goodies! Congrats!
Nice of the AT to come along and just point out a few places for ya!
The gun looks awesome! I like the purse, a possible surprise with in a surprise!

I'm not sure why Blingie is eyeing the fork, but if i were Fishy i'd keep an eye on him!

Nice strolls full of surprises you are having lately, well done!
