Today Dad and I went to the site where he found a New Jersey cent .

The property has two springs, we had detected around one of them, but not the other. So that's were I decided I needed to go. ;D
When I got back there, one of the first signals I got was not a very consistant one but I decided to dig it because the Etrac said it was deep.
It was not as deep as I expected it to be, but what can I say about depth when I pulled out a 1797 Large Cent! :hello2:

I've only ever found one large cent before, and you can only be content at seeing everyone else pull them out of the ground left and right for so long. So I decided it was my turn to find one.

Dad got a cent too, but I hate to say that it is only from the 1980s. :laughing9:

Congrats,

That is a old one. Put yourself in spots with age like that and your gonna find more. I would check that site over closely.

My son did well tonight with our short hunt! :hello2: I was happy to see he pulled a good largie tonight. :headbang:

This site was a late 1790s tavern.... it was previously hunted but not too hard because we have found a few goodies there this spring.. ;D

What is interesting but only my older son is interested in doing any searching.... once in a while his younger brother will want to go out for an hour or so, but not very often.

Hopefully all of your sons will want to be out with you swinging a detector... although that can get expensive! I know from experience. :)
