I am a teacher in Northern MD and the weather here has been in the teens for 9 days now. The ground is frozen to about 3-4 inches and digging is rough. I had to hear those melodic beeps, and bells and wonder what I would find next. This really is a bug. an affliction. I went to an area where there is going to be a dog park. The 1878 atlas shows that there was a homestead here as well as on the knoll a small cemetery with 4 family graves. I am so new at this and am taking my time to learn what each sound means as well as pinpointing. I found a socket, parts of a childs riding toy, Old cans, old water pipes. It looks promising. The development built on top of the area is only 25 years old. I only accomplished two passes today.

GET IT !!!! LOL
I hope you find the time AND lots of cool stuff.
Sounds promising and something to look forward to!
I too, am new at this, just got my first detector in Dec.
I don't find enough time to use it. Mostly because of cold and /or dark and still finding good places to go.
Good luck, and Happy Hunting!!
