The helm that is on the crest, is facing front, this is Royalty. You have really found something. I would check into it futher, there is no telling what you have here...

That is one beautiful bug, Reddie!

The small coat of arms, evidently added later, is that of the college fraternity Phi Delta Theta and was probably taken from a member's frat pin. (See below.)

BTW, there's a similar coin holder (without the coat of arms) on eBay right now:

WOW !!!! NEAT !!!!! But mine is slight different than that one mine opens from the side and mine has the word ANGIENT on the back. Maybe that certain fraternity had them made for all its members ? WHSCO in a globe hallmark was the W. H. Saart Company was founded by William H. Saart in 1905 in Attleboro, Massachusetts. His brothers joined him in business a few years later and the firm was renamed Saart Bros. Company. They manufactured sterling silver dresser sets, baby items and other holloware.

hi everyone im mental granny the coin holder you found is great someone in our local club found one similar they said it was given by parents to the daughter before a date if he got drunk or handys she would have money for pay phone and something to eat
