It seems just about once a year I'll find a silver coin that has been cut by a lawnmower blade, today I found my 18th one. About 4 inches down I dug out
a 1948 Roosevelt silver dime cut in half. After all the silver lawnmower damaged coins I found you'd think that at least one time I could find the other half?
Well,...maybe someday. My best find for the day is a lead solder that was a solid nickel reading on the meter, it might be from the 1920's. At another location I also dug a 1936-D merc! Total wheat cents was 3, clad total was a little over $6.00.

And if it was a lawn mower that cut it, you should find your second cut silver in same area.

Nice finds.

My most disappointing lawnmower cut silver coin was a 1878 Morgan Dollar... These finds are truly bitter sweet....

I once found a silver Roosevelt dime cut into three pieces. Each in a different hole over a two day period. The last slice was tiny and was my last hit of the day as the sun was going down--I couldn't believe I found it! It was so small that I dropped it and took me another 15 minutes to find it in the grass. The three slices sit reunited today in a 2x2 plastic case.

I've found about 3 or 4 more silver dimes that were roughly cut in half and about half of the time find the other piece--nothing older than a winged liberty (merc) dime though.

Congrats on the silver. I like the lead toy soldier. I have been looking for one, and just can't seem to find one. GL!

I have been detecting over 30 years and have never found a coin cut by a lawn mower. Guess I'll have to add that to my wish list!
