I like this buckle

Dug this neat old buckle this afternoon at my parents' house. House dates back to the ~1820s. Found it on the corner of the front yard next to the oldest part of the house.

I've grown very attached to it already :D

Any opinions on how old it might be? Is it a harness/horse tack buckle?
