I am no expert on US coinage, but that screams fake at me! All the detail is too thin and the metal does not look at all right. We see many Far-Eastern copies of large crown size coins on the market here in the UK and that certainly looks like one of them.

Try a magnet on it - if it attracts it is definitely fake. If not then weigh it and take accurate dimensions and post them here for another view. I would say take it to a jeweller to test the metal but I am so sure it is fake I think you would be wasting your time!

I could be wrong but I believe that this is the second time that this same coin has been posted on Treasure Net asking if it is real or fake! In any case, the answer now is the same and no it is not genuine.

Added: Sorry!! I just checked and the previous coin was a 1795 "Flowing Hair" Silver Dollar!
