I had to go to the airport to pick someone up so I had only two hours to hunt. Last weekend I dug a 1918-S mercury dime on top of a gopher mound in
this large park.
This park might have a thousand gopher dirt mounds, so today I decided to hunt only the gopher dirt piles due to my lack of time. I went from one dirt pile to another sweeping my coil. There were so many piles I can come back and do it again! My strategy paid off!
Within the first 20 minutes I had another mercury dime! It was covered by only two inches of dirt, there it was! Also dug a couple of wheat pennies and about $3.00 in clad.
I want to give a big thank you to all the gophers out there!
They are really helping us out in finding the good stuff!
