I posted this in 'movies' but didn't get a response.

I'm hoping someone can think of the name of this movie.

There's a movie probably in the 30-60s (black and white movie). It's a guy that lives on an island(?) and somehow gets trapped with a bunch of younger aged school children and a teacher (Nun?). There is initial turmoil between them all, but they later start to come together in harmony (to get off the island?). The movie reminds me of the African Queen, and is very similar... I just can't think of that movie.

By any chance are you talking about Father Goose? Cary Grant played the lead part. Made in '64
