Yup its a 2 Franc token from Belgium

I have a guide book on foreign coins that is over 1000 pages long and has over 20,000 pictures of every foreign coin minted betwee 1800 and 1995. This coin does not appear in the Belguim section. There is not a single square coin shown as Belguim coin examples. So I'm still not sure about this?

Most coin catalogs don't list tokens just coins....that's why it doesn't show up in your listings.

You are correct! i just did about 5 minutes worth of research on the web and discovered that it is called a Chent. It's a token from occupied Belguim, issued by the Germans during World War I. It might be rare, a similar one is going for $39.00 at worldcoingallery.com.

Thanks,

CHF,

yeah you'd need a pretty hefty wallet to get your hands on all the token catalogs out there.....I pretty much stick to Krause for world coins and a few specialized ones for specific countries, etc....
