Just went figuring on some clad and a nice walk in the sun.

First of all, as I'm walking along I spy with my little eye
what looked to be a rather LARGE roundness lying on the surface.

I ran the detector over what I saw, no signal.

My first smile of the day. (Plastic)

Then, on my way over to a tot lot, I crossed some bare dirt ground.
I wasn't really swinging, just sort of carrying. I got this surface hit.
Sounded like a bottle cap. I scraped away the hard packed surface:

Who woulda thunk it? This is a 60-ish school. :)

Not a lot in the "lot" but I did manage this one:

Not magnetic but not marked either.

Continuing on, I looked near a park bench and uncovered this:

Cute charm but I can't make out the marks. I suspect silver.

Along with some clad filling in the duller spots, I wasn't
doing too badly. But, I was wearing out fast. So, I actually
said out loud, "Ok, I'm officially headed back to the car now." LOL

About 10 feet from the car, somewhere in right field, I get this surface
quarter hit. I said, good, I'm too tired to dig deep anymore. I flip
the plug and I see something bigger than I expected:

2014 (502).JPG

I cocked my head to the side and said huh?

2014 (503).JPG

Then I recognized a bit of the pattern and the shape!

2014 (501).JPG
2014 (504).JPG

I said out loud, "WHOA - WHOA - WHOA !!!!"

Then, I stopped, looked around where I was, a newer schoolhouse, baseball field, surface hit, this kinda shape and I sat there and laughed right out loud!

I knew what I had and it was pretty funny joke. So, I enjoyed the laugh that
had been provided for my entertainment. I thanked Him and went home laughing.

Here's a few close ups anyway, so you can be entertained too.

All in all, a pretty satisfying, FUN hunt!

Let the party begin!

Thanks for stopping by!

Nice hunt! Great narrative! Great bunch of finds! Got to love the humor in life!

Blingie likes the flip flop!....there may be 3 small problems...he has 3 more feet! Guess he can hop around!

Wonder if the plastic and replica coins were lost by the same person?

Naw, no "big one" for me. Ya see, I tend to expect very little until proven to me later. So, I very quickly summed up, pirate treasure - in right field - on the surface - yeah RIGHT! :)

Still. I do greatly appreciate His humor! LOL

Seen the real thing on a older episode of pawn stars, forget what they are called now but just set your collectible silver coin page on ebay from high to low price and youll see one on the first couple pages or so. Someone pulled a funny one there no doubt lol. Any of your friends know you hunt the area?

I think this was more like a "Show & Tell" item that got lost or maybe someone's good luck charm. It was in an area that was wide open. Not like anyone could figure a spot to put it on purpose. But, if indeed Garrett was giving away these, then, yeah, I could see one of you guys "leaving" it behind, on purpose to give someone a thrill. (sorry, it didn't cause the heart attack that might have been intended. I've just been around too long to get taken in that easily. LOL )

I'm working on it, but life keeps coming up with it's own ideas of how I should spend my time. :dontknow:

So, how about showing a pic of yours and telling me what coin this was supposed to replicate?

OH! And don't worry about running out of sites. When I come up we can start all over again. ;)

If a hunt isn't fun, why do it? When you make it your quest to only find one thing, as you said before, it becomes a job. I am doing this for my entertainment...not to impress anyone on here.

Looks like they must have had a pirate festival of some sort on the site so I'm sure your coin is a repro. Still a bunch of cool finds.

That was my thought exactly. But, I still don't know what to call this repro. Fake COB just doesn't sound right. LOL

Anyone know?

Thanks!
