I'm located in Idaho treasure valley also looking for someone to go gold hunting with I'm semi Retired
I use a long range locator and looking someone with a good pi detector / vlf detector & experience extracting gold ores and smelting by fire or chemicals process

A size reference would help alot. Platinum is rarely found in nugget-sizes. I'm in Blackfoot...welcome to the forum. I do quite a bit if gold prospecting. Have a PI, and 3 GoldMaster VLF's. Don't know anything about fire assays.

Doesn't look like any platinum I ever found. (which isn't a lot)
Get a fire assay if that's what it might be. Or hit a local university and ask the geology department. Local mineral club might also be able to help.

Not seeing anything to suggest metallics there, looks like some weathered basalt to me.
