I didn't make it out for my planned morning hunt at the school down the street and my hunting buddy ditched me on my day off, again... ::)

So instead of sitting home all afternoon and sulking I decided to strike out on my own!

I decided to hunt an old historic site along the Hudson River.

My first few finds made me wanna shoot myself :D

If only I could have found a live round... ;D

Then this little beauty popped out of the ground and saved me!

My first ever seated dime!

It was a mixed signal, five inches down with a square nail another inch below it...

Thanx for lookin',

This one was almost a Barber... last year of the Seated ;)

The Barber still eludes me :(

Nice Dime!!! Wow....oldest coin for me is a merc....and only one of those and the other one I have, Cryptodave gave me :)....so now I have two! Someday I will find some really nice old coins, but until then, my beer bottle cap and pull tab collection is coming along nicely!! ;)

Hudson River huh? My mom use to swim in that river when she was a little girl....but when I looked at it as a kid, it didn't look fit for swimming then....I want to metal detect Central Park ;):):)

If you found that one...there may be more waiting for you...I'd go back and detect some more...Good Luck and Happy Hunting,
Annmarie

Actually I was swimming in the Hudson a few weeks ago...

There's no ill effects.
<twitch, twitch>

Up in Lake Luzerne, NY... The Upper Hudson ;)

We took a friend's fishing barge out.

My Seated Lib went for a dip also, I rinsed it off in the nearby river after I found it ;D

Oh ok...that makes more sense in swimming in the Hudson...Mom lived in the city (the BIG APPLE) and she showed me where she went as teens to swim in the Hudson and I wouldn't swim in it!!! LOL. But that was back in the day I reckon' when it was CLEAN!

But happy hunting...hope you finds lots more SILVER and other fascinating items....I wonder if my mother ever lost anything in the Hudson? LOL

Wow on the dime! :o

I had a school hunt planned today....until my sons football coach told me last night my son had a scrimmage today at 9am in a suburb for his football team.... :(

Glad your change of plans worked...then my sons team lost their practice game too...oh well....
