I was obviously looking for rings, as I did not find any silver coins last weekend. I found a bunch of clad and a half dozen wheaties, but, no shiny coins.

As soon as I saw this, I knew it was a silver ring. Amazing how the little things make your day.

It's really small, weighs in at only .6 grams, for a melt value of $.35! Please notice that I did not destroy it with the digger! Whew.

I also found two junkers. My superb pinpointing skills allowed me to fold the fake gold one in half, prior to extraction. Perfect T bone shot with the shovel! Skill.

Thanks for looking, and best of luck on your hunts!

What a great day! What's your technique to find three rings?

Nice little silver! Congrats. Bet you were happy you speared the other one instead of it.

Thanks SD51. I dig a lot of holes and pray at the same time! That's the secret. If it's a repeatable signal, dig it up. You will dig a lot of trash, however, at the end of the day, you won't remember the can slaw, but you will remember the silver ring. I usually dig at least 150 holes in 4 hours.

I recognize the skull ring, I had one when I was younger. It is a promotional Phantom movie ring from the mid 90s.

This is how it is done. I try to use about 10 seconds per dig. Get up, move on, dig again. The law of averages will usually put a ring or other goodies in your bag. There is only so much daylight to burn! Congrats Tom on the silver ring. It is a pretty one! Sub 8-)

Smittyman and I are looking forward to seeing all of you in about three weeks. Sharpen your shovel, there will be lots of targets to hit!
