Iam back at the old field :) just in time its growing a few finds from today

I was able to get back on the old field where i found a very old buckle and 4 coppers and a few buttons today was a few hours but tuff swinging with the new growth coming up iam not sure what i found i think a bale seal its full of letters and numbers i do see a U.S. on it plus a copper jacket over a iron insert it broke in half not sure what that is ? and a very large lead shot everything was deep as always in that field i also dug the smallest copper ? i ever seen :laughing7: it was 10 inches deep i can see the letter L on it .Good hunting Dd60

I made that copper ? larger good luck id,ing that :laughing7:

Can you show a close-up of the copper? I bet one of us will be able to identify it. The Colonial site is still pounding out the relics. :icon_thumleft:

That copper is so small i dont think my Kodak will do a close up that small ill try Dd60

That copper is so small i dont think my Kodak will do a close up that small ill try Dd60

It actually looks more like a button. I didn't really study it close enough. I may be incorrect, but I don't think any Colonial coppers are smaller than a Memorial penny. :icon_scratch:

looks like a 1992 Lincoln cent to me :laughing7:.

I can't help with any id's but it's good to see you are getting out :icon_thumleft:. Just had a thought, the small coin with an L on it, could it be a "lire", not sure of the spelling but what I mean is an Italian coin :dontknow:.

Thats ok the copper piece is really fried at least i got back on that field and my DFX is cranking !! ive got it tuned finally i couldnt believe how deep it was hitting a few finds today anywhere form 8 to 10 inches as was that tiny copper the soil is still moist deep after that 9 inches of rain i think that helps . Dd60
