Hey everybody,
Went back to the frozen field today ,the frost is coming out.
Right off the bat scored a 1824 large cent, then things slowed
down, dug lots of scrap. I moved down the field a bit, but the
ground was still frozen there. So I worked my way back to my
starting point and slowed down to a crawl. A lot of iron signals
but I pulled a 1849 largie from in between. Got a couple musket
balls, flat buttons, and just about dark on my way back to the
truck got a solid coin signal. Pulled a large copper with I thought
no detail, but when I got home I tried Dons hot peroxide bath and
it turns out to be a king george II. Cant make out a date though.
Got a lot of ground to cover at this site. Weather permitting I
will be hitting it hard tomorrow.

Thanks for looking and good luck to all.
Barry

Wow, any hunt with three big coppers is fantastic! I love the KGII. The second large cent looks to me more like an 1848 in the photo.
