I'd forgotten just how relaxing water hunting can be

I wanted to go out today but I didn't feel like putting up with the heat. So, I went where the
humidity is 100 percent plus. ;) I decided on trying a long ago favorite spot of mine for wading
around in cool water. It had always been one of my favorites way, way back when I used to do a lot of
water hunting.

It's held up pretty much like I remembered it too. Strange, how a place can remain like it was 40 years ago in this
ever changing environment. It is one of those, "used to be" beaches from a long time ago and it really is kind of still
out of the way. Blink, and ya miss it kind of places. It helps knowing it was there, LOL.

Anyway, honestly, I just didn't have any expectations. I would've been happy to just be able to wade around in some
cool water and reminisce about earlier times. BUT, surprise of surprises, this place appears to be close to the way I
left it many, many years ago! LOL Oh sure, you can see the differences, time does do it's work. But, the place seemed
happy to see me too. Judging by the finds.

I swear, this little handful looked like the results of any of the trips I made way back when. It's a nice lil place that appears
to still be viable. That's rare all by itself! :)

Typical stuff too:

Nice cool "walk" around an old familiar place
AND, finding!

2015 (288).jpg

The center one was the reason I felt this place
was saying Welcome Back ole friend! It was
my very first signal today! LOL

So, nice day, nice wade, they're happy, I'm happy.

Ahhhh....was nice! :)

Thanks for peeking!

Well that makes for an even better day! Congrats. You would not have wanted to be in the water today here. We had some real gully washers with lightning. Took this today on our way back from a hunt.

The little bell used to have a lucky penny mounted in it. Very cool find. Congrats on the silver rings... three at a time, wow... envious...

PS: Here is a pic of it!

Awesome hunt! 3 silver rings, one for each of you! ...uh,... I'd let Blingie choose first,...( I don't have to tell you why!)

Sounds really great in the water! Guess the place really was HAPPY to see you! Nice!

Well, we had a water main break early this morning,---honest guys I had NOTHING to do with it! I wasn't even up when it happened.

I feel bad for the guy who's yard it happened in, he tried to get his truck out of the garage, yep! Right into the 4 foot hole full of gushing water!
So I could get "in the water" ....but I doubt I would find much, other than a large broken iron pipe and water,...lots and lots of water! Murphy must be back from vacation....

It is going to rain Sunday so I probably WILL be in the water but not like I wanted.

That's what I was referring to, that water hunting doesn't HAVE to be a fight EVERY time out! It seemed like that
with the way I was reintroduced to the water. It was as if I was being encouraged to NOT do this anymore. They were wrong.

Fortunately, my experience in all conditions has won out and I'm now realizing why I loved the water hunts back then. It was because I
tailored my hunts to the proper conditions for success. Now, that, coupled with my knowledge of lots of lil out of the way places. I believe
I've come full circle. Yes, I've added water hunting back into my repertoire as a real option. It's going to be a fun summer. :)
