It's a typical late 1800s to early 1900s [typo in original post corrected] 'steamer trunk'. If there is a maker name that helps narrow down the date, it will usually be on the lock (the maker of the metal fitments is often not the actual maker of the trunk) or on a label inside the lid.

They don't usually fetch more than $100 and often not more than half that.
