Hello everyone, this is my first post on the site and I hope I can get some help.I have an Whites IDX pro. Love the detector but I have got to do something about the depth.I've been looking at the coils on the market for the 6.59hz coils. I know the 5.3 coil whites has out will work on the detector but the depth is worse than the 9.5 stock coil.Any help would be great.

Detector(s) used
Minelab Vanquish 340, Tesoro Silver uMax, Compadre, and BH Tracker IV.

Ex: White's Spectrum XLT, Tesoro Cutlass II Umax, and that circa late 70's red handled junk from RadioShack that started it.
the bluemax, and bullseye line will work on your idx.

bigger coil more depth with loss of sensitivity on smaller objects, more coverage and not good 4 trashy areas.
smaller coil less depth with gained sensitivity to smaller objects, better to get in between trash.
concentric coil puts out inverted cone shaped signal.discriminates better.better trash separation but sees more ground mineralisation.
DD coil sends signal straight down from tip to heel.sees less ground mineralisation, more coverage @ depth.trickier pinpointing.

these are the basics.I use a 8" concentric as my standard search coil.other coils for me are for specialised situations.welcome to the forum.read ask questions and most important use and get to know your
detector.

What kind of depth are you getting? Because I get a pretty satisfactory depth on my IDX with the 9.5" 950 coil. I have the Bluemax 350 (3.5") and the Blue Max 1500 (15")... but I usually just stick with the 950 coil. Maybe instead of looking for a new coil, you should look into have the Mr. Bill mod done to your detector? I heard that's supposed to give up some more depth....
