If I could make a livin out of huntin you... I'd be?

Ok if you don't listen to country music you have no idea what I was refering to up there. But I want to post an I wonder question. Could a single, jobless guy make a living coin roll hunting and metal detecting. While I am pretty sure that silver finds alone could not earn you a living could it if you add in sales of say newly released coins like 2009 dime boxes etc. And could you do it if you metal detected and found a gold ring or diamond ring every month. I for one think it could bring in enough to eake out a modest lifestyle. Interested to hear you thoughts here guys and gals. What if you chose to ride a bike instead of car? What if you house was paid for or your car. You had all the time in the world to just find treasure. Would any of you be tempted to live a lifestyle like this? I think I would but maybe if I could give myself a day off or something. LOL.

I think health care / insurance costs for a typical man in his 50's [somebody likely to no longer have a home mortgage to worry about] will increase at a faster rate than that man will be able to increase his net profit from CRH and TH. Unless the POS increases at a rate at least 130% faster than the rate of increase achieved in health care.

This is pretty much my plan! I am saving up all the money I make to buy some land out somewhere for cheap, then I'm going to build a very small house and bit by bit add to the house and other things like solar panels when I get enough money. I will ride a bike or a motorbike to get around. Be off the grid. Then start up a little produce farm/orchard (plants are my other passion). Money I make from that will go to buying some intense metal detectors, then I plan on spending my winters hunting for gold or other treasures in Arizona or somewhere warm. No mortgage, no monthly payments, no worries.

I "wouldn't" be a millionaire in a week or two....... I would be doing what I love and loving what I do, if I could make a livin out of huntin you.

That's how mine would go....

If I lived in the cheapest state in the US. I'm sure I could survive. I'd be eating Mickey D's dollar menu for breakfast, lunch and supper. I'd be picking butts off the ground for an after dinner smoke, and living in a welfare motel sharing a room with the cockaroaches and the rats that slip under the door.
I'd rather become a politician and use my payoff money to buy silver with. Better yet one of those Czars in charge of opium production in Afghanistan.

nyiangelo, Ahh you know it. Congrats. I would be doing what I love and loving what I do. As for the health care cost. Obama is going to make that free so I won't have to worry about that. LOL. I think if you were debt free and had a roof over your head why not? No family to feed to ball and chain you go out and find the goods and sell the goods. Some months you would be living on bread and water while others you could splurge for a steak.

I figure my gross finds are equivelent to a minimum wage job.
I can't survive om minimum wage.
If you can make it work than more power to you.
For me, for now it's passive income.

Well if you was a single guy & lived very modestly you could if you stayed at it consistently, especially if Silver keeps going up- I see it is up .40 cents in the EU Market [aka] The New European Soviet. :icon_scratch:

I think to call the EU the "New European Soviet" is, frankly, wrong.

That is what Gorbachev called it when the EU was birthed, was only quoting him; ever wonder why the word soviet is not defined it is a "collective" of peoples. USSR translated reads Union of Collective Socialist Republic, a very Orwellian language construct in language as there is no such thing as a "socialist republic; the Soviet lands used Republic in their names (all of them) as a way to mock US. Sorta like the Headlines we saw in Papers about "compulsory volunteerism" in our schools being required to graduate.

The "new European Soviet": "During a late-February address in Brussels, former Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky warned that the European Union -- referred to by former Soviet dictator Mikhail Gorbachev as the 'new European Soviet' -- represents a continuation of the totalitarian vision he had fought against in Russia.... The former Soviet president Mikhail S. Gorbachev put it more succinctly when he told the official Russian news agency, Ria Novosti, last week that 'It is all about influence and domination in Europe.'” (New York Times, 4-18-07)

I agree it "is wrong" but being wrong does NOT change the facts!

You could get creative and write up a prospectus, sell shares to the public and get yourself a nice treasure hunting boat like Mel Fisher did or Odyssey.
Live on the boat with some buddies and scoot around the Keys with the side scan sonar looking for dubloons.
Do some CRH'ing a couple times a week and break out the detector on the beach between bikinis.
Hold your annual shareholders meeting in Vegas.
No point or fun in slumming it! ;D

The thrill of the hunt is good, but unless you like roadkill stew, it don;t put a lot of meat on the table.

I'll try to be serious this time. In the fall of 2008, just before I began CRH, and in the days that I was still buying junk silver, I'd wake up early every morning and go metal detecting. I would pick up enough change in a day to feed myself. If I took the CRH game very seriously and as a matter of survival I could make enough to keep a good wad of cash to perpetuate the game for as long as there is silver to be had.(of course it would very impotant to have cooperative dump banks) There are other things that I would have to do (semi-legal) in order to have cash for a few extra essentials.
It would be a Spartan exsistance working 7 days a week and long hours, but I could do it.
It would be quite a challenge .
