Re: If you don't just throw away your boxes, show us what you do with them
I do not get recycle pickup, so they go in the cardboard bin at the local recycling plant... I wonder what the workers think when they see 4-6 half dollar boxes? (I wait for boxes to accumulate, then dump them all at once)
Re: If you don't just throw away your boxes, show us what you do with them
I spent over an hour the other day, breaking them all down and taking them to a recycle bin...... I was going to keep them for something cool to build but then I realized they were already taking up way to much room.
Re: If you don't just throw away your boxes, show us what you do with them
I have mine stacked up against the wall. I'm going to trash them after Christmas. I might need a few for gift wrapping. The penny boxes can be turned inside out and used for storing other things. Like silver.
Re: If you don't just throw away your boxes, show us what you do with them
I would recycle them but I don't want anyone to see those. I was planning to burn them in my firepit, but haven't had a fire in a while. So I have a few in my garage. Maybe first snow we get I'll drag it out and have a fire outside.
Re: If you don't just throw away your boxes, show us what you do with them
I would advise against putting them out for curbside recycling as any passerby and those who collect it will learn that there is some serious money at your residence. Also, be wary of taking them to a central recycling center as the workers observe and put together a pattern of behavior. You don't want any unexpected visitors to your residence.
In my county, we have both curbside and central recycling centers for larger items/bulk. The centers are staffed by inmate work details.
Your best and safest bet is to dispose of the boxes either by fire or dispose of boxes/wrappers in and around town (gas stations, fast food restaurants, etc.). Be sure to break the boxes down and bag them up in a separate bag before dumping in town.
Re: If you don't just throw away your boxes, show us what you do with them
I recycle all of my boxes and wrappers too.
I just throw them in the community recycle bins located around town.
I just learned that my friends that own a recycling yard accept cardboard, so I am going to take it to them. They have been very good to me over the years, and I would rather give them the scrap cardboard than anyone else.
Re: If you don't just throw away your boxes, show us what you do with them
I recycle the boxes and burn the paper wrappers(from halves only), they start a fire in the fireplace real well. Too bad brinks uses clear wrappers for their pennies nickels dimes and quarters...
Re: If you don't just throw away your boxes, show us what you do with them
Recycling bin. We have 90 gallon bins with lids that are picked up and dumped by an arm on a truck and commingled with everyone else's recycling. Only issue I had was one time a box opened and a few loose wrappers fluttered away in the wind. I make sure they're closed now.
Re: If you don't just throw away your boxes, show us what you do with them
I like to put them in clear plastic bags then drop them off in the middle of the night in front of one of the local politicians houses who is know for "pork belly" projects. I do this only on trash night.
