was that the Popes? Geez, that's a belly chain. Nice find and it's gonna be a great payday on it too.

Congrats, my largest was 49.6 grams and gold was right around $1100.00 when I cashed it in for 900.

WOW - great find - WTG! I agree - if you're gonna find a chain - it might as well be the big kahuna!

Thanks for the nice comments, it is stamped 14k. The crucifix is also stamped 14k. My wife pointed out the (man) was missing. So I guess I will be heading to the beach to find Jesus.

Dale,

That is a SUPER find. How deep was it ? Just wondering because that cross is a nice size.

Probably only about 4” in the wet stuff. I thought it was more can slaw, so I gave it one of those most likely trash quick scoops. When I saw it I just knew it was another cheap something bracelet. I saw the gold color but thought brass. But as I was heading down the beach I thought about the sound it made, it wasn’t a copper or silver sound. See at first I thought it was can slaw and you know where that hits. So I dug it out of my pocket and gave it a quick rinse. The cross had 14k stamped on the back. I couldn’t really see anything on the chain (old eyes) but it looked like the real deal. I wanted to go right home and check it out, but I had only been there about 10 minutes. So I continued hunting and found a dime a token and a quarter. That was it I couldn’t take it anymore. So I got back home without a speeding ticket and checked the clasp. Yep 14k. Yes! That’s what it’s all about

WOW, that is a find of a life time. One shot like that is a whole year or two of Gold for me- Congratulations. The great thing about the Hobby for me is that I can go 6 months and find nothing, and then Hit a home run. That is a base clearer.
