My brother and I hit a new cornfield site this morning. After two hours, we had nothing. Then suddenly I got a solid 72 both ways on the Deus II. One of these times, I'm thinking, this 72 is going to be a fatty IHP. Well, it was. My third ever 1862, and my 50th IHP for the year. Ten minutes later, my brother got a 1902. We hunted another hour and nothing. I guess those were the only two coins out here, he said. Nah, there's more, I said. We just gotta hunt the whole area to get them.

I hit an old house yard later and got a really early Calvin Township, Cass County Michigan dogtag, a 1906. it's probably worth more than all the coins I got this week.
Yesterday I got IHP #49, a real nice 1903, and a 1913 Barber dime.

The day before, I got IHP #48, an 1888. Last year when I started back up metal detecting after a 20 year hiatus and got 13 IHPs, I never in my wildest dreams thought I would get 50 this year. And we are not done yet! It's going to slow down, though, because I gotta get caught up on chores around here.
