Posted just this morning on a patch of turf I hit last night which turned up my first IHP. Had a hell of a night, few coppers, two buttons and my first silver, a 1926 Merc!

I've been grinning like a kid for the last hour. Could use help IDing the "wooden nickel" coin. Shame a lawn mower found it before I did.

Oh and the buttons are pretty much toasted. No marks left on the face. One has "Best" with a garland on the back. The other has "Extra Rich London" on the back. I'd be obliged for any ID's.

Hope this patch has a little more to offer, because I know where I'll be tomorrow night!

Cheers!

Will

Looks like the button pre-date the merc by about a hundred years. Early 1800s copper flat button probably. Nice finds.

Congrats on pulling your 1st silver. :occasion14: I can take you to the exact spot where I pulled my 1st silver and to the spot I pulled my 1st merc. Great memories that will last forever, or at least until you get old and come down with a bad case of CRS. :tongue3:

Your first silver is a nice looking one. Way to go and welcome to the silver coin club. You should definitely be happy with yourself. And I love buttons I'm a sucker for buttons I could dig buttons all day
