Weight, sound and color all should do it but the easiest way it to check for an 'S' mint mark. If it's not an 'S' it's not silver. If it is an 'S' it might be silver, but they're really easy to tell. If you find one you won't have any doubts. Good luck!

Like others have stated, if you have any doubt, its likely NOT silver. Here's a little additional info that might help:

As others stated, all silver Ikes have an 's' mintmark.

They didn't make a clad proof Ike in '71 or '72 so all '71-'72 with an 's' mintmark are silver.

'73, '74, and bicentennial 's' mintmarks can be silver or clad.

There are no silver Ikes from '77 or '78.

Is it true that there were no 90% silver Ikes or Susan B. Anthony's as well ? (only 40% with S mint mark)
