Well guys only gone through 2k worth of the 6k i have found recently, not as good as i had hoped but I will take it. So far found 3 40% ikes, 1 1921 Morgan, 1 1988 .999 Pure dollar, 1 1992 Desert Inn Vegas dollar token, and the oddest find in an Ike bag so far is a dateless shield nickel lol, not sure how that ended up in there.

I have tried to craigslist the coins to sell but only replies i get are from guys wanting me to pick out all the good stuff or silver and sell to them lol. Any other ideas of how to get rid of them? I am contemplating just taking a road trip to a different district to ditch them out in coinlok bags to a bank, hoping i don't see these again.

Pics and stuff will come when i'm done looking through all of them.

Got a local casino that takes coin? Tips at restaurants (have found Chinese places really go for these)? Keep a grand worth for your SHTF trading? In my first bag I found 2 40's and Peace, but there wasn't anything even approaching a shield nickel, dateless or otherwise.

Nice job just on finding that many Ikes, and I wish you the best in both hunting and dumping.

SPEND THEM. OR take them to a bank.

Otherwise post a thread "Members in OK CITY, willing to trade Ikes for cash @ FACE VALUE"
I'm sure you'll get a few people and you are not selling nor buying anything its merely an even transaction and I don't think a charter membership would be required to do this.
If I was near by I'd take all of them off your hands but I'm not.

Sorry, it still violates our rules, only charter members can sell or offer items for trade. Anyone can reply to an offer for trade, but must be CM to make the initial offer of trade.

Maybe you can take something from a store without paying and when they question you you can tell them "its ok I was just borrowing it".

I am surprised you can't sell the clad Ikes on Craigslist - it's always worked for me (although I was only selling $50-60 worth, not thousands).

Did you try the LCS? Even a 10 cent premium would give you a nice return given how many Ikes you have to sell. Have you tried antique shops? I've seen them ask as much as $3 for a regular clad Ike. Maybe they would be willing to pay a premium.

What is the 1988 .999 pure dollar?
And so far you've had success- I think even in 2K finding the morgan and the 3 silver ikes is awesome-

My only suggestion is to take them any direction except Northeast.

Actually, call up the various LCS and ask what they'd be willing to pay. Maybe you'll get someone to bite on paying you $1.10 or something.

i assume its .999 silver, it appears to be a silver round, larger than a dollar and says 1 oz pure silver on the reverse of it. Walking liberty graphic on obverse and similar to an old 1800s dollar on the rev.

Thanks for the advice, i haven't tried LCSs yet and sounds like i should, i figured they could buy them np anytime they wanted.

I believe you have an American silver eagle. It is legal tender of the us and has a face value of one dollar and an silver content of one ounce and purity of .999 fine. The obverse is the same as the walking liberty half with the revers an eagle and a shield. Near the bottom it would say .999 1 oz of pure silver or something near to it. Those usually retail around 28-30 dollars at today's spot prices.
