I'll have mine...."on the rocks".....
After finally locating those blessed rocks and finally getting a good day (although a hot one.....radio last said 104 degrees here). The rocks have paid off. I hunted for approximately 5 hours and drank water for 6, which made for a long day, but I did find some cool stuff. I think because this is in the woods and has had years of leaves falling and collecting...the first few inches has a mat of small roots and at times when you dig the bottom just falls out...not to hard anyway. Anywho.....back to where I was at....all the finds were at the deepest probably 4 to 5 inches and some were less. The total for today was a 1927 quarter ( my first)....a 1872 half dime ( my first also)....a gold ring with a red stone, not sure if its old or not.....what looks like a bib overhaul botton ( blue buckle) haven't heard of them....and some clad. Needless to say I floated the half mile back to my truck and I'm not sure if I will ever loose this great feeling......I did hit them with a little toothpaste and a brush....but they really were not in to bad shape.....thanks all for the encourgement to keep going. HH gregd573.....I also found my share of modern shell casings, mostly 30-30 and 30-06, must be a deer hunters lair.....
