I had a quick half hour before coming home today. After a killer hunt yesterday featuring 2 KG's and more, I needed a less intense little half hour to ease back into non-colonial digs.

I was in gone hunting mode with my CTX and had a strange signal. 3-45, 12-47, 12-45, 01-50, 9-32, 12-28 etc... It was about five inches down so I starts digging. I thought it was a buried clad quarter but low and behold.... 1917 s Standing liberty half. It was standing on end but luckily I wasn't fooled by the scattered signals.

For those coin experts out there, it was a reverse S and not the coveted obverse S with only 1/2 million made. All in all it was a great half hour and a great half.

Happy Spring and thanks for looking.

Nice silver! Congrats on this one. Just wondering about the Gone Hunting Program??? Is that an actual name of the program or a customized program? For some reason I'm scratching the :icon_scratch: right now and it hurts, the only thing I can think of is relic mode or just having wide open. This bad as I have had my multi coffee already.
It's a series of settings for pitch, modes, etc... It's a wide open program however. I'll PM you if you're interested. It takes a while to get used to and I'm still learning it, but it's worth the growing pains as it found me yesterdays Walker AND the 2nd KG3 on Wednesday. Both would have been missed in any other mode

Funny, ain't it. A "quick half hour" and you find such a beautiful coin! Whereas many, many people search for decades and never turn such a coin.

Oh, I have, many times and even a seated half. But, still, just a "quick half hour". LOL

Very nice shape too!

our coins are so beautiful. great find

Did you find one recently? They are one of my favorites as well. 1900's favorites of mine are the walker half and barber quarter.
