Newbie finds renewed glory! (sorry, I've been on the verge of giving up). Minelab CTX3030 found two wheaties and I was flying high. Today, I found these badly corroded Indian Cents. One is from 1865, and the other I can't read. I've tried vinegar & salt to clean them up. That did nothing. Olive oil helped a bit.

The location is an overgrown farm field in Itasca, IL just outside OHARE airport, Chicago. The field won't be around long because it's being developed for a new road.

Congrats on the IH's. An 1865 CW era on to boot.
I've used vinegar and a Q-tip to clean pennies in the past and it seemed to work fine.
Great job.
How were you able to hear anything with all of those planes flying over? :laughing7:
