Started a new permission today that dates wayyyy back. Found some neat stuff but unfortunately not the time period I was hoping to dig. Maybe next time I'll revisit after it rains.

I didn't clean up the coins much, but the IHP's are1890, 1900, and 1909. The buffs are 1915 and 1935. The barbers are 1901-O and 1912. The flat button looks like it has some gold gilt. I have found treble gelt buttons and this is definitely not one of those. Oh, and a 1951 Rooooosevelt...

Also does anybody know what the lead disk with the number on it is? At first I thought it was a lead seal but it's not.

Well that's all for now. I spent about 4 hours digging this good stuff and now it's beer time.

Happy hunting!

I'll go back there one of these days. The ground was dry and hopefully hiding a lot. Not the age range you were looking for, but quality finds for sure!! I'd be thrilled with the Barbers.

Who's complaining about their stuff not being old enough now? Lol that's a nice variety of finds bud. Sometimes you have to remove tvst top layer to get the old stuff. And the ground being dry has a huge impact. When I'm detecting a river bank with nice moist fertile soil it's incredible how deep the T2 is. Ohhhh wait a minute you bought that CTX didn't you. Now I know why you're not getting the old stuff 8-)

Hey guys, thanks. After I posted I went right to bed. Got some sleep and feel great about the site's prospects. Like Abe said, and like what I told the owner yesterday, it's all about peeling back the layers. Yesterday I went after all readable signals, but the next hunt things will surely change. The ground was super dry and a good wetting will surely improve signals.

Oh you and your T2. You see Abe, I utilize both machines for a broader look. In fact, George and I were talking and we think you could go back to that Tree coin site and find another with the help of a CTX. Lol

I bet as you keep going back youre likely to start uncovering some old old stuff, I know what you mean by dry soil, last year down w/vino I thought we would need a jackhammer at some spots, but hey with the finds we were pulling from there it was well worth it!!

The ground was crumbling so it was definitely not ideal conditions. It was strange that there were almost NO high signals. The owner said there has never been a search but I'm suspicious. Usually a LC or other large old coins scream out, dry or wet.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Cherry picked. So have any clue about the lead stamp?

Really nice finds! Congrats! Maybe you can get down into the time layer you are looking for after a little rain.
