Indians and Wheats

2nd hunt with the NEL coil on the Fisher F75. Found my 5th,6th and 7th Indians for this park: 1864, 1883 and 1896. Along the way there came 10 wheats (1910-1953); all but the '53 were 1937 or earlier. Total clad: $5.58. Beautiful day in Baltimore.

I can report that the NEL coil pinpoints to center. Locates objects at least to 9 inches. Does not add much extra weight to the detector over the stock coil.

Congrats on pulling those IHP's, I bet they rang in as 57 VDI on your detector. What size Nel coil did you get?

L-D, I can't say that '57' was not one of the numbers, but the signals for these are usually jumpy and can shoot up into the 70s. The coil is the Tornadno Boost DD and measures 13 inch diameter.

Old Dude, (like me!) - Tornando 13-inch. Last two hunts have used the shovel only. Used to dig by hand. Short-handled, specialized digging tools have been written into regs for detecting in the city.

So if it said "indian" or "IHP" on the screen I'd know what I'm digging. When extracting, I find it's an Indian if it's deeper that most finds. Not always the case, but as a general rule. Had a deep target yesterday and it turned out to be two wheats from the 20s, one stuck to the other, just as they were dropped.

Weirdness happened the day of the hunt. I took a break detecting to return a phone call and decided to move my keys from pocket to backpack. Thought that went as planned....but...
Got back to detecting and made a long sweep up short hill and later decided to go back to where I had found some Indians. Got a strong signal and looked down to find a key on the ground that looked alot like my truck key. It was my truck key. Some how it fell off as I was transferring keys the backpack. My wife referred to this as my "Lost and Found" hunt.
