Info ab bayonet

I found this going through some of my dads collection. He told me his uncle found it detecting but but Im not sure. Either way it's pretty cool, any info will be appreciated

That is an early 1900s British bayonet probably used during WW1. I don't believe it was found detecting.

The leather would have been gone if it would of been in the ground.
