info needed on foundations

a close friend of mine told me were i can find an old foundation in the woods by his house
after a short walk i found the spot and the foundation is real large
looks like there were stone walls inside in 3 locations
the wall dived the foundation in two 3 rooms 15 by 20 each
well to make a long story short i will be getting permission to detect the foundation
and would like some insight on how one would do it right (detecting the foundation)

fmerg, That was a large house. That means "money" lived there. I would go over the ground around the foundation first. If it is clear inside I would do one room carefully at a time. Don't forget the walls. Let us know how it turned out. And don't mind Mental. He is still wearing his crown. Frank
