Thanks alot.....The silver rings were found in soccer fields, the German WWII medal was in a small town park, and the old coins were in an orchard out in Preble county, Ohio. Now, I have a good question as I start venturing past playgrounds and soccer fields. I'm wondering how waterproof a regular detector is. I have an old Master 7X Garrett and a new ACE 250.....They are supposed to have waterproof coils. Does this mean that I could search lake beaches about a foot into the water?? Any answers will help....Thanks so much. Goadster
Thanks, Jeff.....That's a great idea about a sealant. I'll try a tube of silicone. I also find on the ACE 250 that when I shorten the handle the excess coil wire down by the coil will give off a nice little beep, so I'm going to make a velcro strap that I can put on the handle to hold the cable up, then velcro it tight, to help eliminate the extra false beeps....Thanks again,,,,,Goadster
Thanks Jarman,,,,,,Before I got into TH'ing, I would always wonder how some guys would go out about every night and fish. I like to fish, but not every night......Now, here I am, just like an avid fisherman. I keep both detectors in the car at all times, just in case my car accidentally, on purpose, drives near a soccer field, a playground, a park, etc.....This is way too much fun.....Goadster
Hi, thanks for the response......I have to go to Columbus, Oh next week on a business trip and thought it would be a good time to drop off the coin at the ANACS office in Dublin, Oh. where it can be graded and verified....From all of the great responses on this websites I feel real good about the find since it was over 6 inches in the ground in a backyard of an old house.......Either way, it was a blast, as it is every time I strap on the ACE 250........As they say, "Ya just never know what the next beep will pop up".....Thanks ,,,,,Goadster
