Hi All-

It's been raining pretty good this weekend in San Jose, CA but I decided to go out and do some detecting anyways. It was my reward for getting the garage cleaned up yesterday :)

Anyways nothing to exciting, but I did run across this penny which I have never seen before. I looked it up, and I guess it's pretty common but I have never seen one until today, not in
any change that I got back at the store or anything, until I dug one up this morning.

That's all for now, take care and HH.

Yep, there were a few different reverses for the bicentennial of Lincoln's birth. I don't see a lot of them in change.

carefully check the fingers of the left hand. there are 10 known varieties of doubled / extra finger errors. web site "Lincolncentresource.com" has photos of what to look for.

My boys been saving them since they came out. He has stacks of each kind but they are not worth anything.

I think people are hoarding them, because they are not in circulation much.

These were only made in 2009 and they make 4 different scenes on the back celebrating different stages in Lincolns life. I personally have a large zip lock of them and save them when I come across them due to the limited mintage. Hey you never know :dontknow:

You can buy the 4 coin proof set on eBay for less than $10. They look pretty sweet in proofs.
