Can someone please help identify this limestone? i found it it my landscaped suburban backyard and was wondering how it could have gotten there. There are a couple of fragments, which were found several yards away, that fractured off and jigsaw exactly onto the main mass. There are several fossil types contained within. is this type of limestone common in Illinois and why would it randomly be in my yard? Thanks.

Very very early sea creatures like 350 - 400 million years ago. I have quite a few of them from Arizona just different rock structure.

Cool. Do you know if this formation of limestone is common in Northern Illinois? This was found in a well developed neighborhood.
