IOWA/NEB "Explored"

Hi Everyone,

After seeing all the loot my son "Staydetuned" brought back from his family reunion trip I decided to pay a visit to Iowa to see my ex brother in law and steal some oldies from his back pocket park ;D As you might have read "Captn SE" came along with "Staydetuned" and myself on our trip. Had a great week, we probably would have gotten more if we would have concentrated on the first park we hunted, cause we kept ending up going back to it after wasting time trailblazing and looking for old parks in other areas. The first park produced all the oldies consistently everytime, a great park to hunt. There seems to be many parks back there that have not been fully "Explored" yet! Might have to make a few more trips before the deepie turf hunters catch wind 8)

Thanks for lookin... Here's the loot!

Re: IOWA/NEB "Explored"

Looks like somebody used that IH for target practice. I found a wheat penny like that earlier this year. My brother found one during the same hunt. Here's a pic.

From the looks of all those wonderful finds, I think Iowa likes likes you :D

That "target penny" is really neat. . . I would rather find one of those instead of a "missed" one ;D

Re: IOWA/NEB "Explored"

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Evolution: Didn't know what it was til I cleaned off the dirt later on that night and saw the 1902 date, kind of a neat find.

Sgt.Ski: Ya, that's the best condition Barber I have ever found so far, the back still had a little lustre to it.

Halfdime: Thanks, that Canadian half dime is a first for me.

Joe: The V's were pretty cruddy, I cleaned them pretty heavily using vinegar and salt and then lemon juice and baking soda. They're not worth much so I decided to see if I could clean the up any.

Cheezinoot: We were near Sioux City.
