Yes!! Alexandrite is a color changing gemstone that can change from green to pink depending on the light it is shown in. It is quite rare and sought after, and the piece shown is HUGE for this type of stone.

that would depend on the gem quality and not the size.

It used to only come out of Russia and was very expensive. Not too long back, it was found in Srilanka, but I don't think its as high of quality. Its the June birthstone (my daughters birthstone)

Alexandrite is a June birth stone, (my birth month), so I was pricing a ring with a nice stone it in several years ago. I was shocked at the price/value of these stones! A lot more rare than I had imagined, and way outside of my price range. I can't imagine what one this size would be worth. That thing is a retirement find!

Alexandrite ~ the very name of this gemstone brings to mind images of royalty! ... or lovely magenta highlights will be evident by the light of a candle or flashlight,

For pricing, first is how good is the stone. After that price has been set then the number of carats "squared" times that value is the price of the stone. 300 carats= 90,000 times the value of one carat of the stone's quality. So your 100K is way below what it is really worth IMHO.
