My guess same as any web forum. A lot looking but not many posting. Most likely a lot would have a lot to share. But for some reasons unknown they don"t. Its basicly all family here I don"t know why they don"t.

I have been silent because there is just so much good information on this site that I can usually do a search for the answers to my questions. Most of the problems we have had are things that many people have already figured out. For that I am thankful!

Yes. Search feature here does help but soon TMI can set in and that's when we can offer up suggestions or possible solutions. Don't ever hold back. If you got something, more often than not someone here can and will help. Thinking outside of the box here pays off and is strongly encouraged. 8-)

You sound a lot like me when I first started out BUT from what I've read I believe you're beyond my newbie abilities so I look forward to seeing more from you and often. No pressure tho.

I wonder if the administrators can tell where they came from, I'll bet a lot are the result of a Google search. I don't post much but I log in so the new posts are in bold.

The administrators refused to tell us that our visitors are not from our world. I am happy that the X-Files show is back on Fox, Monday nights.

Yeah, we've got a lot of non-member "lurkers" as well as non-contributing members as well. Looking at how many of them came out of the woodwork when Doc was running that contest was informative. Many of them had been members with one or two posts before the contest and others had just joined for the contest.

Having been an an owner/administrator on another site for some years, I can tell ya that the admins here can pretty much tell where everyone is logging in from. Search engine hits, IP address you name it they know it. On my old site, I had tools that could pinpoint where a person was at, what type of computer they were using etc etc etc. Since I gave up writing code, doing graphics and running sites, my blood pressure dropped about 40 points! Maybe one of these days I'll start up another site of nothing but how-to articles and videos, but finding a video camera that doesn't break when I get into frame may be hard. I've been told I have a perfect face for RADIO!

They are seeing where your hunting if you post it and then your finds so they can steal it away from you. Haven't you wondered where all them metal detectorist came from when you find a virgin spot?

It's been a long time since I ran a web server. I remember getting source IP, browser name and Mac or PC but that's about it. There may have been more but I can't remember. So if I click on a link from a Google search, would it show that I came from Google? I'm guessing not. But I'm sure more is possible than there was back in the day.

So it would be technically possible to write a script to look up all the IP addresses to see how many come from three letter agencies. Of course you could spoof that if you wanted to.

There are a lot of reasons that somebody might be here and most of then aren't nefarious. When I'm working on my car, I search forums but don't necessarily join that forum. Mainly because I'm not a mechanic.....just like I'm not an electrician, plumber, landscaper, painter, etc

I'm here, always logged in, but like in real life just don't have much to say. Enjoy reading all the good posts though. Oh and the gold porn to get through another winter day.

Also sometimes when you goggle a search on the web. The link will take you to a T-net post. Of a related subject. I have had this happen.
