🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Is this a carriage pole end?

I’ve seen something found like this before on here and think it was not a bell but a wagon part end or something along those lines, am I on right track? Possibly curtain rod end? I can’t identify it online .

I agree it does look like there would have been a wooden rod with a hole in its end inserted into this piece. It looks too big for a cane end but might be a curtain rod end or something from a carriage, as you suggest.
