need help is this a civil war button , I found it in my front yard, my house is built in the middle of an old wagon trail, it was around 5 inches deep IMG_0706.JPG

The one you found is called a Great Seal Button, I believe they began around 1902, you'll need to clean it up a bit more and look for a back mark and outer rim design for better dating.
