Hello,

Can anyone tell me if this is an old river bed and if it would be good for digging gold? I've heard, that the Blue Hills area of Eastern MA is a good spot for gold. If this is an old river bed then I would imagine I would have good luck trying here. Am I way off here?

Go to Google Earth and check out these coords - N 42 12'36.20" W 71 06'54.83"

Thanks!!

I think you've got the right idea, but I'd recommend trying to find out if anyone has been prospecting successfully there and/or learning more about the geology as pertains to gold in the area and what may be an old river bed. Bottom line though is to try it and see. Looking at a spot on Google Earth won't show any nuggets. You've got to get out on the ground and go for it.

Did you try Googleing "Gold prospecting in Massachusetts "? It shows a few hits for it. This is something I'd really like to try one day. I agree with Luvsdux , just give it a try. Good luck.
