Is this a Native American artifact?

I live in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California and I found this rock when digging up some soil in front of my house to plant some flowers my partner got. I find all sorts of rounded pebbles within the soil of my property, but nothing like this!

Interesting find!!!

But knowing you find lots of spherical stones there, I suspect itā€™s another natural piece.

I donā€™t really find spherical stones like this, more like tiny rounded pebbles (or bigger rocks that arenā€™t significantly rounded). This was instantly noticeable as being unique and looking nothing like the other natural rocks in the yard. Now that doesnā€™t necessarily mean anything and it very well could just be a unique natural occurring stone. But when researching possibilities, it seemed possible that it could be a stone used in flint knapping.

Iā€™m no expert in any way and obviously have a treasure hunterā€™s bias in wanting it to be more special than just a rock. So I appreciate your input, thank you.
