IS THIS A SHOE BUCKLE?

I found this today near where a log cabin used to be in Northeast Ohio.

The bottom part fell off so it may not be in the correct position in the photo.

It does not look like a belt buckle. Could it be a shoe buckle? Approximate age?

The other buckle appears to be a suspender buckle and was found perhaps 10 feet from the first.

Shoe buckles are curved to go over the top of the foot! Not sure what yours is, there are numerous uses for buckles, from clothing to utility (holding a small chest closed)

No prob, check the back crossbar of the small 1 some have mfr. name , they are both nice finds repost that first in the what is it forum , you'll get some ideas it's looks early pics of backs too!
